4. Is it normal for my period to last less than a week?

Of course it is, your period may become shorter as you start to get older, or you might experience periods lasting 1 to 3 days throughout your entire life. However, if this severely different than your regular period, and it is consistent for over a month, then it would be a good idea to talk to someone who could help, but if it only happens once or twice you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

5. When should I be worried that my flow is too heavy?

The person with the best answer for this question should be yourself. You know your body better than anyone else, so just relax, and reflect on how you feel about the situation. Are you bleeding more than normal? Do you have any pains, or cramps that you don't usually have? If either of these are true for you, no need to worry because there are ways to keep the heavy bleeding under control. Visit your gynecologist, and have her change your birth control, or get started on one that will keep your hormones in harmony.

6. Why is the blood brown at the start of my period?

No need to worry, the only difference between brown blood and red blood it's that it's older. Most commonly this is the leftover lining from your previous cycle, or your uterus might just lose blood at a slower rate, which would make it brown by the time you'd notice it. Neither one should cause you concern because brown blood usually isn't anything to worry about.
