This one's a doozy. Palm oil is extracted from the fruit of the oil palm tree and is found in most sweet treats. There are a number of problems posed by palm oil, both environmental in nature and to your health. Palm oil can raise the cholesterol levels in your blood and is a leading cause of deforestation in southeast Asia.
Vanillin is not like its counterpart, vanilla, because Vanillin is just the smell and taste of vanilla. It's nothing more than a chemical that can be manufactured cheaper than actual vanilla. It's actually mostly just MSG along with sodium and water. In the body, mSG is an excitotoxin, causing our brains to think Nutella tastes better than it actually does. Sinister.
