Your birth year.

This is one I didn't expect could be problematic, but posting your birth year on Facebook can actually put you and your family at risk. The reason why might surprise you.

Criminals can actually steal your identity based on very little information, like when you were born, your phone number, your home address, your mother's maiden name, etc. There's a lot of information out there that they can piece together about you if you aren't careful.

Keep this information off Facebook. It is possible to list your birth date without using the year. This is considerably safer if you still want to get those fun "Happy Birthday!" messages every year.
