Bananas are one of my favorite foods. I eat them every single day of my life without exception. I normally eat them for their flavor though. They make oatmeal a little less boring and I love the thickness that they bring to berry smoothies. I didn't know how good bananas actually are for me though! Sure, I know all about their potassium, but there's so much more.
Bananas are full of fiber.
So this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, all fruit is full of fiber. Bananas are unique though. Their fiber is perfect for fighting constipation AND diarrhea. If you're constipated, bananas loosen your stool. If your stools are too loose, bananas help harden them. They're perfect for staving off nearly every digestive problem.
Bananas pack a punch.
I strongly recommend bananas for athletes because the sugars are pretty basic and easy for your body to digest and turn into energy. Eat one each morning when you wake up and again before you work out and you'll have a ton of energy going into the day.
