Your kidneys and liver are in charge of the "detoxing" and no amount of detox supplements will help. What you need is a diet high in fiber and a good probiotic source, like kefir, Greek yogurt, or Kombucha.
But if you're carrying a lot of extra waste, you could definitely do a cleanse. Even if you feel healthy, a cleanse couldn't hurt. As with any cleanse, plan to do it on a day off where you can spend a little quality time on your porcelain throne.
Before you do anything, you have to make sure you're hydrated. The day before you intend to do your cleanse, drink one ounce of water for every pound you weigh. So if you're 150 pounds, drink 150 ounces of water.
Don't drink this amount of water all at once! You can make yourself sick. Drink it slowly and steadily throughout the day.
The morning you intend to do the cleanse, drink 24 ounces of water to replenish any water you may have lost while sleeping. Try to do this cleanse earlier in the day so you're not up all night.
