1. Castile soap catastrophe
If you try cleaning your countertops, hardwood floors, or tile with a combination of Castile soap and vinegar, you might be creating even more work for yourself.
This is because when the Castile soap combines with the vinegar, the fats and oils that the soap is made of begin to separate and leave behind some kind of slime. Which in the end, creates a bigger mess than you began with.
Instead
Try cleaning your surfaces with the Castile soap first to eliminate any greases and oils, and wash them with vinegar afterwards for an even more spotless shine.
2. A bubbling waste of baking soda
When the acidic vinegar is mixed with the basic substance of baking soda, the end result is a very light batch of salt water, which is practically useless for cleaning.
Once you combine the two you will see a wonderful looking bubbly reaction, and you can look at that as all the cleaning properties dissolving away along with all the time and money you put into creating it.
