4. The fights always end up back at money.
Money is an important thing in a marriage. You have to be open and clear about what it is you're doing financially, especially if the money is tight. If your wife starts buying expensive power tools without mentioning it, or your husband starts dropping half a grand on expensive clothes, it's easy to feel betrayed, like you don't matter.
5. Communication has been exhausted.
There's always going to be a degree of recourse when it comes to rectifying problems in your relationship, but over time, those avenues become narrower and narrower, and your options begin to diminish. This is not a good sign. If you feel like all you can do is complain to your friends, it's over.
6. Every little suggestion is met with anger.
So you're hanging out and you see your husband struggling to do something, you suggest a better way, and he snaps. Or maybe your wife is complaining about some people at work, and you make a suggestion about conflict resolution and she blows you off. Good marriages are formed on a foundation of helping one another. If your help is being met with anger and rejection, the foundation begins crumbling.
