Retinyl palmitate, also known as vitamin A palmitate, is supposed to help more greatly protect your skin from the harmful effect of UV rays, but, when actually exposed to UV rays the palmitic acid releases a chemical into your skin that can be toxic to your cells, and even possibly damage you DNA. Studies done by the FDA have reported that this chemical can speed up the process harmful cells, and skin tumors, So avoid sunscreens with this ingredient if you care about your health.
4. Disrupted hormones.
Oxybenzone, when applied to your skin enables other chemicals to be more easily absorbed into your skin, and once exposed to UV rays the chemical itself becomes absorbed in the skin, and produce allergic reactions that have a similar look to eczema. Additionally, this hormone can spread from the effected area, and cause you harm long after you get out of the sun. This could result in hormonal disruptions, that could have damaging effects on your body.
