4. Light headedness.
If you feel light headed when you stand up, you may have orthostatic hypotension. It usually only lasts for a couple seconds, but if it lasts more than a minute, especially if you're younger, it may indicate blood flow issues. Prolonged dizziness makes you about 55% more likely to experience heart failure later in life.
5. Yawning while working out.
Yawning is a strange thing. Most scientists don't understand why we do it. One theory is that yawning helps promote blood oxygenation and brain cooling. If you yawn during exercise, it could be a sign that your ticker isn't working like it should and your body is trying to circulate more oxygenated blood.
6. Fowl breath.
Bad breath, caused by gum disease or gingivitis, may signal heart trouble down the line. This is because of the inflammation that gingivitis causes. Gum disease can cause an increase in the likeliness of stroke and heart disease.
7. Discomfort in the chest.
Chest discomfort is a more obvious sign of impending heart trouble. Some say it's like an elephant sitting on your chest. Others characterize it as pinching or burning. If you have chest pain that lasts more than a few minutes, see a doctor right away.
8. Nausea and stomach pain.
Heart attack can cause you to feel stomach pain and even vomit. Women are more likely to experience this then men. But an upset stomach can be caused by many different things. Simply be aware of this early symptom of heart attack.
9. Jaw pain.
Jaw pain or pain in the throat by itself isn't really much to be worried about. If you have pressure or pain in your chest in conjunction with jaw or throat pain, call 911 right away and seek medical attention.
