As humans, we're all unique individuals. Even identical twins have some unique features that separate them from their twin. But we all share certain characteristics or types. For instance, there are body types that we most resemble, such as hourglass or pear-shaped. So, too, do we all share common facial types as shown in the photo below.

Now, we ladies love to experiment with new hairstyles and there is nothing at all wrong with that! But, there are certain hairstyles to avoid, as well as, hairstyles that will accentuate our beautiful goddess selves. Below are some hairstyle suggestions that will make the most of your facial type.

Oval Face

Ladies who have oval faces are the lucky ones! Almost any style will work for you. But try to keep it either short or long. A short bob looks great as does long, curly locks. If you go long, try to keep some layering in, especially around the face. This will help accentuate your cheekbones.

Round Face

If your face is round, avoid short bobs or cuts that are all one length. These styles will only make your face look more round. A layered cut will give your face more structure and definition. The goal is to make your face appear longer. Fringes around the face will help accentuate your cheekbones, but avoid bangs! They will make your face look short and, therefore, more round!

Square Face

If you have a square face, you will want to avoid any cut that stops at the jawline. You will want to keep some length to your hair in order to soften your jawline. Layers will add some texture to your hair that will soften your face. If you have bangs, sweep them to one side to take away from the square appearance.

Heart Shaped Face

The goal of your style should be to increase the face at the jawline while decreasing the face at the forehead. Long bangs that are swept to one side will make the forehead appear smaller. Add length to the face with layers near the cheekbone. Also, don't keep your hair too long. Shoulder length, or jaw length, hair will increase fullness around the jaw.
