Why the alkaline diet works

As you use energy, and metabolize your food throughout the day, particles of the food you've eaten remain inside your body, and depending on the kinds of food you've eaten that day, these particles can either help you, or harm you.

When there are too many acidic particles left behind you are at a higher risk for common illnesses and diseases. However, particles from high alkaline food help protect your body from anything that's trying to harm it.

Avoid acidic foods

Due to the harmful nature of acidic foods it would be best to avoid them all together, or cut down your consumption at the very least. So when making the transition to an alkaline diet try staying away from these highly acidic foods:

Milk products

  • Homogenized milk
  • Cream
  • Quark
  • Buttermilk
  • Hard cheese
